If your vehicle was built in the last decade, there's a good chance a camera behind your windshield is quietly running your lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and collision alerts. These are Advanced Driver Assistance Systems — ADAS — and they depend on that camera being aligned to the millimeter.
When a windshield is replaced, that alignment is disturbed. Vehicle manufacturers — and most insurers — require ADAS recalibration after windshield replacement. Skip it, and your safety systems can warn you too late, brake when they shouldn't, or fail to activate at all.

ADAS Calibration FAQs
Yes. Virtually every vehicle manufacturer requires recalibration after the windshield is removed and replaced, because the forward-facing camera mounts to the glass. Most insurance carriers require it as well.
Most calibrations take 45 minutes to a few hours depending on whether your vehicle needs static, dynamic, or both. In most cases we complete it the same visit as your windshield replacement.
Usually, yes — when the windshield replacement is covered, the required calibration is covered with it. We work directly with all major insurers and can walk you through your policy.
A camera that's off by even a few millimeters can misjudge distances by several feet at highway speed. Lane keeping, emergency braking, and collision warnings may trigger late, falsely, or not at all.
Static calibration is done in the shop with precisely positioned targets; dynamic calibration is done on the road with diagnostic equipment connected. Your vehicle's make and model determines which is required.
